The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.55.9

तस्मिन्नेव प्रदेशेऽन्तः पूर्ववत्स्मृतिमान्भवेत् ।
तदैव मृतिमूर्च्छान्ते पश्यत्यन्यशरीरकम् ॥ ९ ॥

tasminneva pradeśe'ntaḥ pūrvavatsmṛtimānbhavet |
tadaiva mṛtimūrcchānte paśyatyanyaśarīrakam || 9 ||

The soul continues to remember all its past adventures, even in its next state, and finds itself in a new body, soon after the insensibility of death is over.
