The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.55.5

तस्मिन्देहे शवीभूते वाते चानिलतां गते ।
चेतनं वासनामुक्तं स्वात्मतत्त्वेऽवतिष्ठति ॥ ५ ॥

tasmindehe śavībhūte vāte cānilatāṃ gate |
cetanaṃ vāsanāmuktaṃ svātmatattve'vatiṣṭhati || 5 ||

The body being a dead carcase, and the breathing mixing with the air, the soul is freed from the bonds of its desires, and flies to and remains in the mode of the discrete and self-existent soul.
