The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रबुद्धलीलोवाच ।
व्यथां विमोहं मूर्च्छान्तं भ्रमं व्याधिमचेतनम् ।
किमर्थमयमायाति देहो ह्यष्टाङ्गवानपि ॥ ५६ ॥

prabuddhalīlovāca |
vyathāṃ vimohaṃ mūrcchāntaṃ bhramaṃ vyādhimacetanam |
kimarthamayamāyāti deho hyaṣṭāṅgavānapi || 56 ||

Lila said:—But tell me, O goddess, why do these pains and agonies, this fainting and delirium, and disease and insensibility, overtake the body, when it is possessed of all its eight organs entire.
