The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.54.31

बालमृत्युप्रदैर्बालो युवा यौवनमृत्युदैः ।
वृद्धमृत्युप्रदैर्वृद्धः कर्मभिर्मृतिमृच्छति ॥ ३१ ॥

bālamṛtyupradairbālo yuvā yauvanamṛtyudaiḥ |
vṛddhamṛtyupradairvṛddhaḥ karmabhirmṛtimṛcchati || 31 ||

Boys die by acts causing infant diseases and untimely deaths; so do the young and old die of acts that bring on juvenile and senile weakness, sickness and ultimate death.
