The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

एतावदेव भवति वरशापविजृम्भितैः ।
यथा संचिन्त्य एवाहं तथा स्मृत इति स्मृतिः ॥ ३६ ॥

etāvadeva bhavati varaśāpavijṛmbhitaiḥ |
yathā saṃcintya evāhaṃ tathā smṛta iti smṛtiḥ || 36 ||

The effect of a blessing or curse, on any one is no other than his obtaining the state he desired or feared to have.
