The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वेतालास्त्रं ततो दत्ते तेनोत्तस्थुः शवव्रजाः ।
अमूर्धानः समूर्धानो वेताला वेशवल्लिताः ॥ ३५ ॥

vetālāstraṃ tato datte tenottasthuḥ śavavrajāḥ |
amūrdhānaḥ samūrdhāno vetālā veśavallitāḥ || 35 ||

He darted his Vetala weapon, which made the dead bodies, whether with or without their heads, to rise up in a body in their ghastly shapes.
