The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.43.27

यदृच्छात्कारडात्कारकठिनाग्निरटद्गृहम् ।
अनन्तजन्तुभोज्यान्नवह्निभुक्तेन्धनस्पृहम् ॥ २७ ॥

yadṛcchātkāraḍātkārakaṭhināgniraṭadgṛham |
anantajantubhojyānnavahnibhuktendhanaspṛham || 27 ||

The sudden outbreak of the fire was as the outburst of house breaking robbers upon the sleeping inhabitants; and it made its prey of everything (whether living or lifeless), that fell in its way.
