The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.43.23

अङ्गारराशिनिपतन्नरनार्युग्ररोदनम् ।
स्फुटच्चटचटाशब्दप्रलुठत्स्फुटकाष्ठकम् ॥ २३ ॥

aṅgārarāśinipatannaranāryugrarodanam |
sphuṭaccaṭacaṭāśabdapraluṭhatsphuṭakāṣṭhakam || 23 ||

There were wailings of men and women at the falling of fire-brands upon them; and the splitting of splinters and the slitting of timbers emitted a phat-phat noise all around.
