The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.43.11

बलादाकर्णकृष्टानां धनुषां शरवर्षिणाम् ।
बृंहतामतिमत्तानां कुञ्जराणां तरस्विनाम् ॥ ११ ॥

balādākarṇakṛṣṭānāṃ dhanuṣāṃ śaravarṣiṇām |
bṛṃhatāmatimattānāṃ kuñjarāṇāṃ tarasvinām || 11 ||

The twanging (tankara) of bow strings drawn to the ears, the rustling (sarsara) of flying arrows flung with full force; the loud roaring (bringhana) of furious elephants, and the shrieks (chitkara) of frightened ones.
