The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.43.9

कल्पाम्बुदघटातुल्या व्योम्नि धूममहाद्रयः ।
बलात्प्रोड्डयनं कर्तुं प्रवृत्ता गरुडा इव ॥ ९ ॥

kalpāmbudaghaṭātulyā vyomni dhūmamahādrayaḥ |
balātproḍḍayanaṃ kartuṃ pravṛttā garuḍā iva || 9 ||

The smoke rising as heaving hills, have overspread the skies like diluvian clouds; and the flame of fire, ascending on high, resembles the phoenix flying in the sky.
