The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथा नौयानसंरम्भे वृक्षपर्वतवेपनम् ।
यथा स्वधातुसंक्षोभे पूर्वपर्वतनर्तनम् ॥ ५२ ॥

yathā nauyānasaṃrambhe vṛkṣaparvatavepanam |
yathā svadhātusaṃkṣobhe pūrvaparvatanartanam || 52 ||

The world is an illusion, like the delusion of moving banks and trees to a passenger in a vessel on water, or a rapid vehicle on land;or as the trembling of a mountain or quaking of the earth, to one affected by a convulsive disease.
