The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

हस्तहार्यतमःपिण्डस्फुटकुड्ये निशागृहे ।
लाभोच्छदोच्चलचते भूतसङ्घे प्रवल्गति ॥ २ ॥

hastahāryatamaḥpiṇḍasphuṭakuḍye niśāgṛhe |
lābhocchadoccalacate bhūtasaṅghe pravalgati || 2 ||

The naked and fleeting ghosts, were revelling on their provision of carrion in their nightly abode, and under the canopy of thick darkness, which was likely to be laid hold upon under the clutches of one's hand.
