The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वरूपिकास्कन्धपतच्छवत्रस्तनिशाचरम् ।
नभःसंघट्टितापूर्वभूतपेटकसंकटम् ॥ २६ ॥

svarūpikāskandhapatacchavatrastaniśācaram |
nabhaḥsaṃghaṭṭitāpūrvabhūtapeṭakasaṃkaṭam || 26 ||

The hobgoblins of the night, (nisacharas), got frightened at the fall of the carcasses from the shoulders of the elves (Rupikas), who were carrying them aloft in the air; where they were waylaid by a throng of ghostly demons.
