The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मृष्टध्वान्तासिवलिते दिननागेन्द्रमस्तके ।
संध्यारागारुणं कीर्णं तारानिकरमौक्तिकम् ॥ ४ ॥

mṛṣṭadhvāntāsivalite dinanāgendramastake |
saṃdhyārāgāruṇaṃ kīrṇaṃ tārānikaramauktikam || 4 ||

The face of the day like that of an elephant, being besmeared with the blackness of night fall, was again painted by the light of evening with the pearly spots of stars on the cheeks.
