The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दिव्याष्टकजनानीकं पक्षद्वयतया तया ।
अर्धेनार्धेन कुपितं भूपालाभ्यां तथा स्थितम् ॥ २० ॥

divyāṣṭakajanānīkaṃ pakṣadvayatayā tayā |
ardhenārdhena kupitaṃ bhūpālābhyāṃ tathā sthitam || 20 ||

Thus the armies of the two belligerent potentates, each composed of eight ranks or battalions, were furiously engaged with one another, as described below.
