The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.36.13

समुद्गरा मुद्गरिभिः सगदैर्विलसद्गदाः ।
शाक्तिकैः शक्तियोद्धारः शूलैः शूलविशारदाः ॥ १३ ॥

samudgarā mudgaribhiḥ sagadairvilasadgadāḥ |
śāktikaiḥ śaktiyoddhāraḥ śūlaiḥ śūlaviśāradāḥ || 13 ||

Mallets militated against mallets (mudguras), and clubs were contravened by clubmen in the conflict. Combatants with pikes (saktis), encountered the pikemen (sakti-dharas) face to face; and iron rods were crossed to pointed rods (sulas) in the strife.
