The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.35.8

कृष्णायसपरीधानवलत्सेनाम्बुभीषणः ।
कबन्धावर्तलेखान्तर्बद्धसैन्यादिभूषणः ॥ ८ ॥

kṛṣṇāyasaparīdhānavalatsenāmbubhīṣaṇaḥ |
kabandhāvartalekhāntarbaddhasainyādibhūṣaṇaḥ || 8 ||

Soldiers clad in black iron armour, were as the dark blue waters of the deep, and the headless bodies groveling in dust were as the eddies of the sea, with the encircled equipments as the sea weeds.
