The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.34.24

युध्यध्वमग्रतो मूढा नयतार्धमृतान्नरान् ।
निजान्पादप्रहारेण मैतान्दारयताधमाः ॥ २४ ॥

yudhyadhvamagrato mūḍhā nayatārdhamṛtānnarān |
nijānpādaprahāreṇa maitāndārayatādhamāḥ || 24 ||

They cried out to fight the foremost in war, and to remove the wounded to the rear; and not to trample over the bodies of their own soldiers, now lying low on the ground.
