The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.25.20

ततोऽपि च घृताम्भोधिलेखयैवं प्रमाणया ।
ततोऽपि शाल्मलीद्वीपलेखया मलपूर्णया ॥ २० ॥

tato'pi ca ghṛtāmbhodhilekhayaivaṃ pramāṇayā |
tato'pi śālmalīdvīpalekhayā malapūrṇayā || 20 ||

This sea is called the sea of butter, and is twice as large as the continent which is girt by it. Beyond it lies the Salmali dwipa, girt by the foul sea of wine.
