The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

आदावेव हि यन्नास्ति वर्तमानेऽपि तत्तथा ।
भातं वाऽभातमेवातो मृगतृष्णाम्बुवज्जगत् ॥ १० ॥

ādāveva hi yannāsti vartamāne'pi tattathā |
bhātaṃ vā'bhātamevāto mṛgatṛṣṇāmbuvajjagat || 10 ||

What was a non ens at first, is even so a not-being at present, and what appears as existent, is as inexistent as the water in a mirage.
