Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यावदभ्यासयोगेन न शान्ता भेदधीस्तव ।
नूनं तावदतद्रूपा न ब्रह्म परिपश्यसि ॥ ३८ ॥

yāvadabhyāsayogena na śāntā bhedadhīstava |
nūnaṃ tāvadatadrūpā na brahma paripaśyasi || 38 ||

Until you are trained by your practice of Yoga, to rely in one unity, by discarding all duality and variety in your belief, so long you are barred from viewing Brahma in his true light.
