The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.21.22

कार्य च कारणं चैव कारणैः सहकारिभिः ।
कार्यकारणयोरैक्यात्तदभावान्न शाम्यति ॥ २२ ॥

kārya ca kāraṇaṃ caiva kāraṇaiḥ sahakāribhiḥ |
kāryakāraṇayoraikyāttadabhāvānna śāmyati || 22 ||

Thus it is the knowledge of the union of the cause and effect, and the auxiliary cause in Him, that gives us our tranquillity and naught otherwise.
