The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सा तस्य ब्राह्मणी भार्या शोकेनात्यन्तकर्शिता ।
शुष्केव माषशिम्बीका हृदयेन द्विधाभवत् ॥ २५ ॥

sā tasya brāhmaṇī bhāryā śokenātyantakarśitā |
śuṣkeva māṣaśimbīkā hṛdayena dvidhābhavat || 25 ||

His Brahmanic widow (born of the priestly class), was pining away in her sorrow, and her heart was rent in twain as the dried pod of Simbi.
