The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीदेव्युवाच ।
प्राक्स्मृतेर्भ्रान्तिमात्रात्मा सर्गोऽयमुदितो यथा ।
स्वप्नभ्रमात्मको भाति तथेदं कथ्यते शृणु ॥ २९ ॥

śrīdevyuvāca |
prāksmṛterbhrāntimātrātmā sargo'yamudito yathā |
svapnabhramātmako bhāti tathedaṃ kathyate śṛṇu || 29 ||

The goddess replied:—As this illusive world appeared a reality to thee before thy reminiscence of it, so must thou know all this to be unreal from what I am going to relate to thee.
