The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.16.37

श्रीराज्ञ्युवाच ।
जय जन्मजराज्वालादाहदोषशशिप्रभे ।
जय हार्दान्धकारौघनिवारणरविप्रभे ॥ ३७ ॥

śrīrājñyuvāca |
jaya janmajarājvālādāhadoṣaśaśiprabhe |
jaya hārdāndhakāraughanivāraṇaraviprabhe || 37 ||

The princess replied:—"Be victorious, O moon-bright goddess! that puttest to an end all the pains of our birth and death, and the troubles, afflictions and evils of this world; and that like the sun, puttest to flight the darkness of our affections and afflictions in this life.
