The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
एवमेतत्कथं ब्रह्मन्नेकजीवेच्छयाखिलाः ।
जगज्जीवा न युज्यन्ते महाजीवैकतावशात् ॥ २८ ॥

evametatkathaṃ brahmannekajīvecchayākhilāḥ |
jagajjīvā na yujyante mahājīvaikatāvaśāt || 28 ||

Rama asked said:—How comes it, O Brahman? that the totality of the living souls in the world, is guided by the will of one universal soul, which governs the whole, and to which all others are subject.
