The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.14.25

यथान्धकारो दीपेन प्रेक्ष्यमाणः प्रणश्यति ।
न चास्य ज्ञायते तत्त्वमबोधस्यैवमेव हि ॥ २५ ॥

yathāndhakāro dīpena prekṣyamāṇaḥ praṇaśyati |
na cāsya jñāyate tattvamabodhasyaivameva hi || 25 ||

These different believers are lost (in their various views), as the light is lost under darkness. They will never come to the knowledge of truth as it is the case with the ignorant.
