The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.13.34

आतिवाहिकदेहात्मा चित्तदेहाम्बराकृतिः ।
स्वकल्पनान्त आकारमण्डं संस्थं प्रपश्यति ॥ ३४ ॥

ātivāhikadehātmā cittadehāmbarākṛtiḥ |
svakalpanānta ākāramaṇḍaṃ saṃsthaṃ prapaśyati || 34 ||

The gross embodied soul, is of the form of vacuum like the mind and yet it imagines itself to reside in an ovum in the body, as Brahma is supposed to be seated in the mundane egg.
