The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

वन्ध्यापुत्रव्योमवने यथा न स्तः कदाचन ।
जगदाद्यखिलं दृश्यं तथा नास्ति कदाचन ॥ ४ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
vandhyāputravyomavane yathā na staḥ kadācana |
jagadādyakhilaṃ dṛśyaṃ tathā nāsti kadācana || 4 ||

Vasishtha said:—As there never was a barren woman's son or a forest in the air, so there existed no such scene as that of the world before.
