223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.7.36

एकाभावे द्वयोरेव सिद्धिर्भवति नात्र हि ।
द्वित्वैक्यद्रष्टृदृश्यत्वक्षये सदवशिष्यते ॥ ३६ ॥

ekābhāve dvayoreva siddhirbhavati nātra hi |
dvitvaikyadraṣṭṛdṛśyatvakṣaye sadavaśiṣyate || 36 ||

Without union of the two there is no success of either; and this union of both the viewer and the view having disappeared at last, there remains an only one unity (which is indissoluble).[2]
