The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
चिन्मात्रं चेतनं विश्वमिति यज्ज्ञातवानसि ।
न किंचिदेव विज्ञातं भवता भवनाशनम् ॥ ५ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
cinmātraṃ cetanaṃ viśvamiti yajjñātavānasi |
na kiṃcideva vijñātaṃ bhavatā bhavanāśanam || 5 ||

Rama rejoined:—So it is; and even boys say this also, that if the whole world is mere Intelligence (chetana matrakam); then why call it by another name (as the world), and what is the use of giving admonition of it to anybody,
