Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

येन शाम्यत्यशेषेण रागद्वेषविषूचिका ॥ १५ ॥

śrṛṇu tatpauruṣaṃ kīdṛgātmajñānasya labdhaye |
yena śāmyatyaśeṣeṇa rāgadveṣaviṣūcikā || 15 ||
