The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.4.53

यद्द्रष्टुरस्याद्रष्टृत्वं दृश्याभावे भवेद्वलात् ।
तद्विद्धि केवलीभावं तत एवासतः सतः ॥ ५३ ॥

yaddraṣṭurasyādraṣṭṛtvaṃ dṛśyābhāve bhavedvalāt |
tadviddhi kevalībhāvaṃ tata evāsataḥ sataḥ || 53 ||

As the disappearance of an appearance makes the observer no observer of it, know such to be the state of the abstraction of the mind from whatever is real or unreal in the world.
