The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.4.43

संकल्पनं मनो विद्धि संकल्पात्तन्न भिद्यते ।
यथो द्रवत्वात्सलिलं तथा स्पन्दो यथानिलात् ॥ ४३ ॥

saṃkalpanaṃ mano viddhi saṃkalpāttanna bhidyate |
yatho dravatvātsalilaṃ tathā spando yathānilāt || 43 ||

Know volition to be the same as the mind, which is nothing different from the will, just as fluidity is the same with water, and as there is no difference between the air and its motion in the wind.
