The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीराम उवाच ।
एवमेव मनः शुद्धं पृथ्व्यादिरहितं त्वया ।
मनो ब्रह्मेति कथितं सत्यं पृथ्व्यादिवर्जितम् ॥ १ ॥

śrīrāma uvāca |
evameva manaḥ śuddhaṃ pṛthvyādirahitaṃ tvayā |
mano brahmeti kathitaṃ satyaṃ pṛthvyādivarjitam || 1 ||

Rama said:—It is even so as you have said, that the mind is a pure essence, and has no connection with the earth and other material substances; and that it is verily Brahma itself.
