The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अस्ति ह्याकाशजो नाम द्विजः परमधार्मिकः ।
ध्यानैकनिष्ठः सततं प्रजानां च हिते रतः ॥ २ ॥

asti hyākāśajo nāma dvijaḥ paramadhārmikaḥ |
dhyānaikaniṣṭhaḥ satataṃ prajānāṃ ca hite rataḥ || 2 ||

There lived a Brahman Akasaja by name, who sat always reclined in his meditation, and was ever inclined to the doing of good to all creatures.
