Yoga Vasistha [sanskrit]

223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.1.41

तस्माद्यदीदं सद्दृश्यं तन्न शाम्येत्कदाचन ।
शाम्येत्तपोजपध्यानैर्दृश्यमित्यज्ञकल्पना ॥ ४१ ॥

tasmādyadīdaṃ saddṛśyaṃ tanna śāmyetkadācana |
śāmyettapojapadhyānairdṛśyamityajñakalpanā || 41 ||

Thus the sight of phenomena being altogether irrepressible, it is a foolish supposition of its being suppressed by practices of Jap-tap or prayers and austerities and the like acts of devotion.
