The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.1.13

स तथाभूत एवात्मा स्वयमन्य इवोल्लसन् ।
जीवतामुपयातीव भाविनाम्ना कदर्थिताम् ॥ १३ ॥

sa tathābhūta evātmā svayamanya ivollasan |
jīvatāmupayātīva bhāvināmnā kadarthitām || 13 ||

This self-same spirit next shows itself in another form, which is called the living soul (Jivatma), and comes afterwards to be understood in the limited sense of life.
