The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.19.4

शान्तिः श्रेयः परं विद्धि तत्प्राप्तौ यत्नवान्भव ।
भोक्तव्यमोदनं प्राप्तं किं तत्सिद्धौ विकल्पितैः ॥ ४ ॥

śāntiḥ śreyaḥ paraṃ viddhi tatprāptau yatnavānbhava |
bhoktavyamodanaṃ prāptaṃ kiṃ tatsiddhau vikalpitaiḥ || 4 ||

Know your peace to be the chief good, and be diligent to secure the same. When you have got the food for your eating, it is useless to talk about how you came by it.
