The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.18.56

एवं सति निराकारे ब्रह्मण्याकारवान्कथम् ।
दृष्टान्त इति नोद्यन्ति मूर्खवैकल्पिकोक्तयः ॥ ५६ ॥

evaṃ sati nirākāre brahmaṇyākāravānkatham |
dṛṣṭānta iti nodyanti mūrkhavaikalpikoktayaḥ || 56 ||

In such cases, no corporeal instance can apply to the incorporeal Brahma, nor optional and ambiguous expressions give a definite idea of Him.
