The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.18.55

यो यो नामेह दृष्टान्तो ब्रह्मतत्त्वावबोधने ।
दीयते स स बोद्धव्यः स्वप्नजातो जगद्गतः ॥ ५५ ॥

yo yo nāmeha dṛṣṭānto brahmatattvāvabodhane |
dīyate sa sa boddhavyaḥ svapnajāto jagadgataḥ || 55 ||

Whatever examples are given here as explanatory of divine nature, they are to be understood as appertaining to a world seen in a dream.
