The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.17.8

स्वयं ज्ञाता श्रुता वापि भ्रान्तिशान्त्यैकसौख्यदा ।
आप्रेक्ष्य वर्णिता सद्यो यथा स्वर्गतरङ्गिणी ॥ ८ ॥

svayaṃ jñātā śrutā vāpi bhrāntiśāntyaikasaukhyadā |
āprekṣya varṇitā sadyo yathā svargataraṅgiṇī || 8 ||

One's knowledge of this work whether by his own perusal or hearing of it from the rehearsal of others, tends to the immediate obliteration of his errors and augmentation of his delight, as it is done by the holy river of heaven.
