The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

दीपे यथा विनिद्रस्य ज्वलिते संप्रवर्तते ।
आलोकोऽनिच्छतोऽप्येवं निर्वाणमनया भवेत् ॥ ७ ॥

dīpe yathā vinidrasya jvalite saṃpravartate |
āloko'nicchato'pyevaṃ nirvāṇamanayā bhavet || 7 ||

As a lighted lamp presents its light to every waking man, so does this work effect the ultimate extinction of every person whether he would like it or not.
