The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

संतोषैश्वर्यसुखिनां चिरविश्रान्तचेतसाम् ।
साम्राज्यमपि शान्तानां जरत्तृणलवायते ॥ २ ॥

saṃtoṣaiśvaryasukhināṃ ciraviśrāntacetasām |
sāmrājyamapi śāntānāṃ jarattṛṇalavāyate || 2 ||

Those who are happy with their prosperity of contentment, and possess the calm repose of their souls, are as holy saints, and think a sovereignty no better than a bit of rotten straw.
