The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.13.40

पुरुषार्थैकसाध्येन वासनैकार्थकर्मणा ।
केवलं तन्मनोमात्रजयेनासाद्यते पदम् ॥ ४० ॥

puruṣārthaikasādhyena vāsanaikārthakarmaṇā |
kevalaṃ tanmanomātrajayenāsādyate padam || 40 ||

It is only by means of one's best exertions and the fixing of his mind to one object, as also by the subjection of his desires, that the ultimate state (of bliss) can be arrived at.
