The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.13.20

तावन्नयति संकोचं तृष्णा वै मानवाम्बुजम् ।
यावद्विवेकसूर्यस्य नोदिता विमला प्रभा ॥ २० ॥

tāvannayati saṃkocaṃ tṛṣṇā vai mānavāmbujam |
yāvadvivekasūryasya noditā vimalā prabhā || 20 ||

So long will chill frost of penury continue to contract the lotus of humanity, as the clear light of reason does not shine upon the mind like the sun.
