The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

बहूनि स्मृतिशास्त्राणि यज्ञशास्त्राणि चावनौ ।
धर्मकामार्थसिद्ध्यर्थं कल्पितान्युचितान्यथ ॥ १२ ॥

bahūni smṛtiśāstrāṇi yajñaśāstrāṇi cāvanau |
dharmakāmārthasiddhyarthaṃ kalpitānyucitānyatha || 12 ||

They have made many works on the traditional law and sacrificial rules to be observed on earth, and many appropriate provisions for the accomplishment of religious and temporal duties.
