The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.11.4

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
परमे ब्रह्मणि ब्रह्मा स्वभाववशतः स्वयम् ।
जातः स्पन्दमयो नित्यमूर्मिरम्बुनिधाविव ॥ ४ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
parame brahmaṇi brahmā svabhāvavaśataḥ svayam |
jātaḥ spandamayo nityamūrmirambunidhāviva || 4 ||

Vasishtha replied:—This Brahma is in his own nature the same with the Supreme Brahm, and is born in him, as a billow is born of the waters of the deep.
