The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.10.33

अथाभ्यधात्स मां तातः पुत्र किं दुःखवानसि ।
दुःखोपघातं मां पृच्छ सुखी नित्यं भविष्यसि ॥ ३३ ॥

athābhyadhātsa māṃ tātaḥ putra kiṃ duḥkhavānasi |
duḥkhopaghātaṃ māṃ pṛccha sukhī nityaṃ bhaviṣyasi || 33 ||

Then he my father spoke to me saying: Ah my son, why art thou so afflicted? Ask of me the remedy for thy affliction, and thou shalt become happy.
