The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

जन्तुर्यद्वासनो राम तत्कर्ता भवति क्षणात् ।
अन्यकर्मान्यभावश्चेत्येतन्नैवोपपद्यते ॥ १४ ॥

janturyadvāsano rāma tatkartā bhavati kṣaṇāt |
anyakarmānyabhāvaścetyetannaivopapadyate || 14 ||

All animals are seen also to act according to their desires, and to do nothing to which an inclination was wanting in their natures.
